Background

Anne is a mental health professional who received her Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Florida State University in 2001.  She also earned a M.S./Ed.S. in Mental Health Counseling with a Specialist in Education as well as a M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy.  Anne specializes in helping couples repair and reinvent their intimate relationships so they can reconnect as well as rekindle that long-lost sense of passion.  She encourages and empowers partners to shift from being worthy competitors who fight to win to being trusted allies who have each others’ backs. Anne assists each partner in gaining the self- and relational-knowledge necessary to practice good mental health and therefore, make the choices needed to create a deeply satisfying and meaningful connection with one another.

Profession

For over 20 years, Anne has worked in both the mental health and educational fields. After graduating with her doctorate, she worked with individuals, couples, and families in a variety of settings, including private practice, residential treatment facilities, group homes, day treatment programs, and schools.  Currently, she is in private practice, working with individuals and couples who are struggling with the challenges of contemporary, intimate relationships. In addition, she is on track to become a Florida Supreme Court Family Mediator.  Anne decided to get certified as a mediator in order to help couples divorce with dignity, particularly when children are involved. Lastly, Anne has been an educator for more than 25 years, providing instruction and clinical supervision to both traditional and non-traditional college students who are interested in helping professions such as mental health counseling, social work, and marriage and family therapy.
